Simon Thapa: A Journey of Faith and Resilience

Simon Thapa's journey from Bhutan to the US is nothing short of inspiring. Born into a Hindu family, Simon faced persecution due to his conversion to Christianity in 1991. After fleeing Bhutan in 1993 with his family, they spent years in a refugee camp in Nepal before being resettled in the US in 2009.

Despite facing challenges, Simon found work at Goodwill Roswell Alpharetta and later at Fieldale Farm. Over the years, he and his wife have built a life in the US, owning a car and a home.

Starting a Fellowship: A Testament to Faith

In 2012, inspired by his faith, Simon Thapa started a small church fellowship in Atlanta. What began with a few members has now grown to over 100 strong worshippers who gather at Claremont Hill Baptist Church in Decatur.
